Implementation Approaches

This section lists approaches to implementation that were developed in health care, mental health, and social service (including child welfare) settings. It is important to note that most of these implementation approaches were not developed specifically for child welfare settings. The basic principles and premises may generalize across service settings; however it is important to note that most approaches have not been tested in child welfare, and there is a great deal of variability in how and where approaches have been tested.

Approaches were selected that are commonly cited in the literature, but, unlike the programs listed on the CEBC, these models were not scientifically rated based on the amount of research evidence. The purpose of this section is to provide a list of the implementation approaches for informational purposes. At this time, the science behind these approaches is for the most part in its infancy. As more research studies are published, updated information on implementation approaches will be posted.
