Jennifer Rolls Reutz is the Director of the California Evidence-Based Clearinghouse for Child Welfare (CEBC) and the California Training Institute (CalTrin) Initiative. In this role, she oversees the day-to-day operations of both projects and is responsible for their delivery and overall success.

Jennifer has been with the CEBC since the original project proposal was written in 2005. Initially, she worked part-time on the research side of the CEBC, overseeing the review and rating process, while also running several federal grants as a research coordinator at the Child and Adolescent Services Research Center (CASRC). She became the Co-Director of the CEBC in 2017, before taking over as Director of both projects in 2020.

Jennifer earned her Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Cornell University. She worked as a science teacher for several years before getting her Master's Degree in Public Health from San Diego State University.

Jennifer is guided both personally and professionally by the words of Eeyore, one of her favorite characters: A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference.

Jennifer believes in doing work that has a measurable impact on the broader community, while still being personally satisfying. Her experiences as a foster and adoptive parent have allowed her to see multiple sides of the child welfare and behavioral health systems and encouraged her belief in the power of natural supports, prevention and early intervention, data-driven decision making, and second chances.

Outside of work, Jennifer loves to travel with her husband and son. Jennifer is an avid reader and gets the full value of her Kindle Unlimited subscription each month. She enjoys science fiction and Comic-Con is her favorite week of the year.
