Sheila is a Content Specialist for both the California Evidence-Based Clearinghouse for Child Welfare and California Training Institute (CalTrin). In this role, she edits program content for the website, collaborates on creation of marketing materials, produces the CEBC Connection newsletter, and manages social media.

Prior to joining the CEBC, Sheila worked for six years in nonprofit communications and fundraising with local social service agencies focused on child welfare issues. She also has experience in public relations and corporate communications and is a published writer, having worked for both print and online publications. Sheila earned her Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Communications (double major) from the University of Cincinnati and a Master's Degree, with distinction, in Public Relations & Advertising from DePaul University.

Sheila believes that challenges make life interesting, but helping others to overcome those challenges makes life meaningful. She is passionate about helping to create a brighter future for youth in the child welfare system and their families. Sheila is guided by Henry David Thoreau's words: Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler.

Always up for an adventure, Sheila and her husband, David, love traveling and exploring new places. They also enjoy local beach days with their three rescue Boxers: Nati, Otis, and Guinness, who are the most spoiled pups!
