The combination of a traumatized child/adolescent who, when exposed to trauma reminders, has difficulty regulating their emotions and behavior and their caregiver/system of care who is not able to adequately protect the youth or help them to manage these survival in the moment states
Parents and caregivers of youth ages 12-14
Families with children ages 0-17 at risk of involvement or currently involved with the child welfare system including birth parents, foster parents, adoptive parents, guardians, and relatives
Organizations with professionals and paraprofessionals, and others who work with survivors (children, adolescents, and adults) of traumatic life events, especially those with histories of childhood trauma
Youth-serving professionals working with groups of youth exposed to trauma in the mental health, juvenile justice, and education fields
Parents/caregivers of children from birth through three years of age
Low- and middle-income 4-12 year old students, including African-Americans, Caucasians, Hispanic, and Asian populations
Parents of children ages 0 to 18 with communication and behavior problems
Parents of what are collectively referred to as "strong-willed," or out-of-control adolescents and older children (11-17 years old), including children diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, and most children diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. The program has also been used with adult children still living in the home.
Parents, grandparents, teachers, babysitters, and other caretakers who need support - information and practical skills - to create an environment of emotional safety for children in their care that is built upon mutual respect
